We are seeking someone with extensive experience of social innovation in the so-called ‘Global South’. We desire a board that is not just globally minded, but globally rooted. This individual will help us hold ourselves accountable to that ambition.
After 17 years as SIX – one of the world’s most respected social innovation networks – we have entered a new chapter in partnership with India’s EdelGive Foundation. We are rebuilding for impact and sustainability, and we want our board to reflect the global dynamism we believe in.
We are looking for a leader based in or deeply rooted in Africa, Latin America, Middle East, or South East Asia, who brings at least one of the following:
- You lead or have led a social innovation organisation, lab, network, or platform in your region – you understand what it takes to build and sustain this work in context
- You have credible influence at government or policy level – you know how systemic change actually happens in your ecosystem
- You bring academic or research credibility in the social innovation field – you can help us understand what is emerging, and what gets missed in Northern accounts of the field.
You will also bring:
- A genuine belief that powerful innovations to help solve the world’s wicked challenges are emerging from regions of the world that have received too little attention so far
- Comfort operating at a strategic level – you can see the whole picture and contribute to decisions within a global remit
- The confidence to challenge and redirect, not just affirm
