How do you have a conversation with someone that you disagree with?
“If you ask, what is the most significant thing you can do to achieve peace in ordinary life? The answer is: commit to the conversation, converse with people that you disagree with.” John Paul Lederach, University of Notre Dame
The Biggest Conversation of the World (La Conversación Más Grande del Mundo) is a pedagogical method and social movement promoted by Colombian government to incentivise public deliberation and citizen participation on wide range of issues related to the end of armed conflict and collective peace-building. It aims to bring exchange of different ideas, experiences and visions through information sharing, communication and public dialogue within the ordinary day-to-day lives of citizens, reaching beyond what happens in the negotiation tables in Havana.
