{"id":539,"date":"2018-12-18T16:26:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T16:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/six.stimulatingminds.co.uk\/?p=539"},"modified":"2022-07-04T11:48:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T11:48:00","slug":"sig-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/socialinnovationexchange.org\/legacy\/sig-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Fostering a Canadian ecosystem for systems change &#8211; the SiG story"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As SIX Global Council member&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sigeneration.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Social Innovation Generation (SiG)<\/a>&nbsp;draws to a close after ten years, the organisation have created this book to chart and track their learning journey from the past decade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sigeneration.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Innovation Generation (SiG)<\/a>&nbsp;was a coming together of unusual allies \u2014 a private family foundation, an innovation hub, a non-profit social enterprise and a public university \u2014 around a common cause. Originally conceived in 2007 by the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, it developed with the University of Waterloo\u2019s Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience (WISIR), the MaRS Discovery District, and the Plan Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ultimate goal of the partnership was to nurture the conditions for transformative change in Canada. In&nbsp;<em>Social Innovation Generation<\/em>, we lay bare what our mission meant to us, why it matters, what we learned, where we stumbled and our insights into how social innovation happens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-plain is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>In this book, we lay bare what out mission meant to us, why it mattered, what we learned, where we stumbled and our insights into how social innovation happens.
