We hope that the report will also surface some of the most pertinent questions and challenges of the ever-growing social innovation and PSI labs space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will find the following information within the report, summarising the insights and knowledge captured at the conference. Videos of each of the keynote sessions and panel discussions are available&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marsdd.com\/systems-change\/mars-solutions-lab\/video-slides\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>History and background of PSI Labs<\/strong>:&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/sig.uwaterloo.ca\/profile\/frances-westley\" target=\"_blank\">Frances Westley<\/a>, J.W. McConnell Chair in Social Innovation at the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/sig.uwaterloo.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience<\/a>, explored group dynamics and group psychology in the 1940s to 1970s, and design thinking and computer modelling in the 1980s and 2000s.<\/li><li><strong>Current landscape of PSI Labs:&nbsp;<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgespan.org\/About\/Team-Members\/Jari-Tuomala.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Jari Tuomala<\/a>&nbsp;presented&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgespan.org\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">The Bridgespan Group<\/a>\u2019s research on the current landscape of labs globally, followed by a discussion with&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nesta.org.uk\/users\/geoff-mulgan\" target=\"_blank\">Geoff Mulgan<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/inwithforward.com\/about\/Sarah\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Schulman<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/youngfoundation.org\/people\/indy-johar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indy Johar<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.la27eregion.fr\/-Contacts-\" target=\"_blank\">St\u00e9phane Vincent<\/a>. The research is now published online&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgespan.org\/Publications-and-Tools\/Innovation-Labs-Insight-Center.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>&nbsp;and is definitely worth checking out.<\/li><li><strong>Role of design in public policy:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/christianbason\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Bason<\/a>, who currently heads the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/ddc.dk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Danish Design Center<\/a>, shared insights gained from his previous work at MindLab, emphasizing design\u2019s unique contribution to establishing effective public policy.
