{"id":4894,"date":"2019-05-31T08:34:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-31T08:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/six.stimulatingminds.co.uk\/?post_type=casestudy&#038;p=4894"},"modified":"2024-02-22T20:53:11","modified_gmt":"2024-02-22T20:53:11","slug":"systems-thinking-in-context-and-practice","status":"publish","type":"casestudy","link":"https:\/\/socialinnovationexchange.org\/legacy\/casestudy\/systems-thinking-in-context-and-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Systems Thinking in Context and Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"has-purple-color has-text-color has-wpdc-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Spread out over three months with mini-R&amp;D tasks in between, this 10-hour capacity building programme will focus on exchange and reflection, embed organisational learning in context and practice, and enable teams to work more collaboratively, effectively and authentically.<\/em><\/strong><br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-purple-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><br>There\u2019s no systems change without organisational change, and no organisational change without individual change.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014 Jonathan Raymond, Stuart Foundation&nbsp;(quoted in Kania, Kramer, and Senge, 2018)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To become familiar with the concept of social innovation and systems thinking<\/li><li>To understand and map the field and the various roles foundations can play<\/li><li>To reflect on your own role within your organisation and the field<\/li><li>To come up with a long term plan to transform systems thinking into practice within your own organisation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ideal Group Size<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8-12 participants from different departments across the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Programme Style<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Practical and Participatory<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme will be built around real life cases within the organisation and from other foundations&nbsp;in the SIX network. Participants will apply common approaches in social innovation and systems theory to their own work and will explore case studies of funders who have adopted a role focused on being agents for systems change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Iterative and reflective<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshops are driven by individual organisations, teams and challenges.
