ECLAC with support fromt he WK Kellogg Foundation, identified and reviewed 4800 social innovation experiences of Latin America and the Caribbean, gleaned in five annual competition cycles. After conducting onsite visits and evaluating the projects, the selection commitee chose 25 winners it considered the most innovative and had the most the most impact on the regions's social development.


This document analyzes the selection crieriea to determin the most succesful endevours. It also describes the profiles of the award winning projects, factors decisive int he success, and lessons learned form the singual stories that arise in some of the regions most isolated places, oftenfrom the comminities themselves.
