SIX Funders Node Retreat: Strategic Foresight

Event Date: 8 — 11 August 2018

Date: August 8-11, 2018
Location: Wasan Island, Muskoka Lakes, Ontario Province, Canada
SIX is delighted to be welcomed back to Wasan Island for a third year to host a retreat for the SIX Funders Node.

From 8-11 August, SIX and the Robert Bosch Foundation are partnering to host an intimate and special three-day gathering of pioneering global funders to explore how funders can fund strategically with future foresight and adaptive capacity for emergent change.

In our rapidly changing world, funders need to build more capacity to better deal with the new challenges that come their way, and this group is the perfect place to explore this. There is a lack of institutions that are doing radical thinking about foresight – what role should foundations be doing to contribute to a better future?
This three-day retreat will be rooted in practice and provide critical space for peer-learning and exchange, supported by the latest thinking and frameworks from around the world.

We will dive deep into the opportunities and challenges that come with strategic foresight and learn from each other, cases, stories, practical strategies and frameworks, and explore how to engage with emergent nature of our complex challenges while nurturing the future scenarios we strive to see. We will discuss how the field can systematically improve its foresight and leverage this into action.

The retreat is for foundations who recognise the limitations of their individual impact and are interested in collaborating and aligning their strategies and resources.
