SIX announces new board members

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of three new board members who bring an incredible track record of experiences and knowledge on social innovation. 

François Bonnici is Director at Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, a physician, professor and the former Founding Director of the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship, University of Cape Town, the first academic centre dedicated to social innovation in Africa. Experience spans over two decades of working across multiple systems, sectors and scales, deeply rooted in context and frontline work, while also working extensively with the public sector, civil society, business and philanthropy in progressive and catalytic partnerships. 

Kiri Bird is Director of Strategic Initiatives and Ecosystem Relations at the First Nations Technology Council where she champions and oversees digital equity and innovation initiatives and nurtures academic, philanthropic, and technology sector partnerships. Kiri previously worked at Vancouver Foundation where she managed social finance and investment readiness funding programs, and at RADIUS SFU, where she developed and led the organization’s social innovation lab and systems change portfolio for over five years towards a vision of economic transformation.

Markus Lux is Senior Vice President at Robert Bosch Stiftung. He is currently Deputy Head of Department “International Relations – Europe and its Neighbours” and responsible for the topics “International Affairs and Global Issues”, “Civil Society International” and “Building a Stronger Europe”. He was a Visiting Lecturer at several universities in Latvia and has also worked for the German public television channel “ZDF” in Mainz. 

Louise Pulford (CEO) said: “We are excited to bring these brilliant individuals onto the SIX team. Their global perspectives and new energy is just what we need as we freshen up SIX and explore new opportunities as we all navigate new ways of doing things. We welcome their challenge!”

We would also like to thank Geoff Mulgan, the outgoing board member, who has given us enormous amounts of direction, encouragement and leadership from Day 1 of SIX.
