Digital Social Innovation (DSI) is an online platform designed to build a living map of organisations that use digital technologies for social innovation. The site is part of a large research project on DSI funded by the European Commission and will create a community of digital social innovators across Europe. Led by Nesta, the project partners for the site are EsadeFutureEverythingIRISwirrl and Waag Society.

Join the network today and become part of the online community!

It takes just a couple of minutes to get started and get your organisation put on the map. The information you provide about your organisation will be visually represented on a map and the data will be freely open to everyone and published as Linked Open Data under a Creative Commons Public Domain Dedication licence.

DSI are looking for organisations that support or operate online services that do all of the following:

  • Focuses on grass-roots or "bottom-up" communities of users.
  • Uses online/digital tools or methods in a disruptive way
  • Makes a positive social impact
  • Works in the European Union
  • Creates a "network effect" through collaboration online i.e. the larger number of users a service has, the better it works.
  • The information you provide will be used to understand emerging technology trends and the potential opportunities for supporting them better. The site will develop allow us to analyse what policy makers can do to encourage more digital innovation for social good in order to write recommendations to the European Commission.

If you think you should be on the map, you should join the network: Post your organisation on Digital Social Innovation
